From tasting some of the best wines from around the world, Peter was determined to leave no stone unturned in his quest to produce a red wine that would stand tall in the finest company. In his quest, Peter worked closely with his chief winemaker in their winery in the Hunter Valley. The Hunter Valley is famous the world over for its award winning wines. The historic Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest wine region and was the source of Peter Giesser’s quest to make the finest wine possible.
The grapes for this wine were harvested from mature vines with an average age of more than 30 years in the heart of the Hunter Valley. Chairman’s Reserve shiraz has an aroma of dark berry fruits with spicy notes. The wine has great depth and character. Time in French oak has imparted a warm spicy backbone, which compliments the ripe fruit. Flavours are rich and full with sweet mulberry and blackberry fruits enhanced by wellintegrated tannins giving length and vitality to the wine.
Soft and inviting now but careful cellaring for 5 – 10 years will be rewarded.
