McLaren Vale is a wine region approximately 35 km south of Adelaide in South Australia. It has a population of about 2,000 and is internationally renowned for the wines it produces. Notable for producing Shiraz, the grape is by far the most important variety for the region. The area's thin soils, limited water, and warm summers harness Shiraz's natural vigor and produce intense flavored fruit, and wine with a deep purple color that can last decades in the bottle. McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate produces wines distinguished by elegance, structure, power and complexity.
The bouquet of this shiraz has enticing aromas of red berry fruit flavours with hints of pepper and spice. The wine is rich and full flavoured, showing ripe mulberry and spice fruit with a rich blackberry palate. The finish is soft with fine tannins. Well integrated oak creates a rich, well structured shiraz with good length of flavour.
A stylish shiraz ready to drink now but will reward careful cellaring for 5+ years.
